A painting of revolvers was first and starting point for this series. Jauss & Gauger placed silhouettes of different revolvers and pistols onto a previously printed canvas, then painted and reworked the canvas in multiple layers. Only after completing the composition did they remove the silhouettes and only then, the painting appeared in its final form. The word ‘revolver’ contains the artists’ intentions for this series, to ‘revolve’, to ‘evolve’ and ‘volver’ - Spanish for ‘return’ -, and encompasses various themes, from technology to cartoons, to human shapes.
